Warmblood Approvals
While Triple Twist is obviously able to sire Jockey Club Thoroughbred registered foals, as well as being approved through AQHA, it is clear
that many of the people who want these bloodlines are Warmblood breeders. Therefore every effort is being made to get Trey approved with one or more
Warmblood registry. The ones we are focusing on at this time are the Oldenburg N.A./ISR, and the Trakehner Association. Trey will attend the West Coast
2010 Old/ISR stallion licensing, and if provisionally approved, will proceed to the 10 Day Stallion Test with jumping as the selected discipline. For more
information about the Advanced Stallion Test, please see
Oldenburg Registry NA
The Trakehner Association has a program where Thoroughbred stallions can get approved if they pass the provisional licensing and achieve a high level
performance in sport. In eventing, the stallion must earn a certain number of points in Preliminary Level competition or higher. Trey is expected to
compete in Prelim in 2010 and he will attend the Trakehner licensing when he has earned the required points.
Stallion owners frequently underestimate the challenges of preparing a stallion for Warmblood licensing and approval. We have stacked the deck in our
favor by teaming up with a trainer who not only competes in Trey’s chosen sport of Eventing, but who has successfully prepared two stallions for approval
already. Dana Estes of Vineyard Eventing along with assistant trainer Sandy Boling, trained and prepared Dana’s Hanoverian stallion Worthy Opponent for
the licensing and he was approved for Oldenburg/ISR, American Hanoverian Society, and German Oldenburg Verband, as a four year old. He went on to the 100
Day Test where he was considered to be one of the best prepared young stallions at the test. He finished as Reserve Champion, scoring over 130 points in
both Dressage AND Jumping. As a six year old, he is currently competing at Prelim level eventing. Dana’s younger stallion, Armani, was provisionally
licensed at three years old for the Oldenburg/ISR, and is expected to attend additional Warmblood registry inspections and then the 70 Day Test.
In addition, Dana has prepared multiple mares for Mare Performance Tests, including the Holsteiner MPT, which is considered by many to be the most
grueling, and the only one which requires mares to jump under saddle. In 2004, Dana presented the mare Nokia to the American Holsteiner Horse Association
and was one of only FOUR in the nation who passed the MPT that year.
If that were not enough, the American Hanoverian Society set up a program to identify trainers and facilities qualified to train horses in various
disciplines and to prepare mares and stallions for licensing. Vineyard Eventing and Airdance Farm were one of only a handful of facilities in the nation
certified to prepare and train stallions for licensing. Please see
Vineyard Eventing for more information.
